The pantry was busy, busy. We also had lots of folks in for our Jumble sale through the week (continuing this week) and a bumper day on paid forward soups and hot drinks on Saturday, clearing us out completely for the end of the month. Huge thanks to our regular supporters who cover the cost of doing this!
Sunday night was lush, Clive Carroll is one of our faves — and it was great to see Jonathan Fashole-Luke, who performed the night before with JFL Jazz Trio, in the audience enjoying the music. The whole crew were surprised by Jake Puntis Guitar who is not only immensely talented and a lovely guy but is the doppelgänger of former director Devin Jay Valentine
Jake and Devin are now Facebook friends and swapping stories as Jake has been mistaken for Devin in public a few times 😂😂😂 although not the other way ‘round as Devin has been laying low and studying like a good lad.
Moving Voices poetry & song open mic on Friday was, as always, sterling – thanks RKP – Poetry for the hosting and Jamie Cripps for the accordion playing.
Monday was our AGM and we were able to chat to our accountant Bob, over jammy dodgers (thanks Zigz for always providing snaccs) about the next steps after we leave the building. We will be updating you soon on how that’s progressing!

No rest for the wicked as we continue the attic clearance today, feeling a great deal of regret that we have a tendency to keep stuff ‘just in case we need it’ – a side effect of being so passionately anti waste.
It’s been a weird, emotional, busy, intense and lovely January. The kindness and support we’ve been shown since we announced our move from Above Bar has been extraordinary and has made it all much easier on the crew, so thank you ❤️xx
